History

Combat Readiness Health Services (CRHS) was established in September 2008 to assist the military in accomplishing their medical and dental needs while assuring all services provided are within the military standard of care. The 150+ medical and dental staff of CRHS has extensive knowledge of army regulations ensuring the all services provided are within military, state and federal guidelines.

Over the years, CRHS has developed several levels of fail safes which entitles it to the claim of successfully completing every military event awarded. CRHS maintains a fleet of mobile vehicles to attend events providing the flexibility to work in multiple locations with potable and digital medical and dental equipment. Extensive knowledge of DENCOM, DENCLASS, MEDPROS, and DOEHRS ensure all military standards are met.

CRHS created a unique dental case management program that has been very successful the past two years ensuring that no solider is left without proper dental care. CRHS stands behind every dental treatment provided and strives for the 100% dental readiness of every solider in the ILARNG.

The CRHS Medical Director , LTC Marc H. Dahman , MD along with the Dental Quality Assurance Officer, Col. Larry Foster , DDS ensure familiarity with military procedures and standards as well as the assurance that all licensed staff is current and comfortable with the cutting edge medical and dental equipment.

COL Larry D. Foster, DDS
Dental Quality Control Officer

Currently a Colonel in the Illinois Army National Guard, Col. Foster was enrolled in Southern Illinois University in 1974, where he received his Associated is Dental Laboratory Technology by 1976 and continued working towards his Bachelors in Dental Science (1981). In 1981, Col. Foster enrolled in Loyola School of Dentistry gaining is DDS by 1985.

With his graduation came his signing up for the Illinois Army National Guard. Stationed in Baumholder, West Germany until 1988, Col. Foster served as a general dental officer.

With over 25 years of service with ILARNG, Col. Foster has been on six Humanitarian Medical Missions in South and Central America along with two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. Still concerned with our service men and women as well as veterans, Col. Foster works as a general dentist for the Illinois VA providing dental care.

LTC Marc H. Dahman, MD
Medical Director

Presently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Illinois Army National Guard, LTC Dahman was born in Jacksonville, Illinois and graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1989. Upon graduation he enrolled at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to complete his undergraduate studies and earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Structural Biology in May 1993. During this time, LTC Dahman also received certification to practice as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1991.

LTC Dahman enrolled at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria Illinois (1993), earning his medical doctorate in 1997 following up with a residency in General Surgery and finishing a fellowship in Trauma/Critical Care in 2006.

LTC Dahman has spent the past nine years working in Trauma Services at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Trauma/Critical Care at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and Trauma Services at Saint Francis Hospital of Evanston. During his time serving overseas and at home, LTC Dahman found time to co-publish Military Medicine Practical Advance in Obtaining an Emergency Airway via Cricothyroidotomy.

LTC Dahman has an established military career as well, serving in Operation Homeland Security (Fort Campbell, KY 2003); Operation Iraqi Freedom (Baghdad, Iraq 2005); Operation Enduring Freedom (Kabul, Afghanistan 2008-2009); and Operation New Dawn (Tikrit, Iraq 2011). Having spent time in South and Central America doing Military Humanitarian Aid and being the Commander of Company C, 634th BSB, LTC Dahman continues to prove his patriotism and dedication to medicine.

Having LTC Dahman join Combat Readiness Health Services as our Medical Director is a privilege. His extensive medical background and dedication to our country is admirable and inspiring to us all.
